We had the had the privilege of hosting 77 students from Strathmore University Business School in Kenya, who are participating in the Programme for Management Development. As part of their immersion, they are spending time with GIBS at the University of Pretoria to gain a deeper understanding of the South African business environment.
Our Chief Executive Officer, Glenn Brauns, delivered a comprehensive overview of the current national landscape, highlighting key economic indicators in South Africa. He shared the 48-year journey of PnS, demonstrating how we’ve evolved by embracing innovation through digitization, automation, and AI integration. Glenn also underscored the importance of delivering in-store impact to our clients, which is central to fulfilling our business purpose. PnS remains committed to making a positive and meaningful impact on the lives of our employees, their families, communities, and the broader South African society.
Our Chief People Officer, Michelle Chandler, further emphasised our dedication to a People First strategy and capacity building. She provided an in-depth overview of our learning and development initiatives, highlighting the pivotal role of skills development in driving organisational success. Michelle also outlined the strategies we’ve implemented to keep our employees engaged and well-informed. As she stated, “We build people – who build brands.”
The students had the opportunity to engage directly with both Glenn and Michelle during interactive Q&A sessions, which allowed them to connect the insights shared with their academic pursuits, enhancing the relevance and impact of the exchange.
We extend our best wishes to these future leaders as they apply their newfound knowledge in their lives and careers.
As Dr. Seuss wisely said, “The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
