This year, we donated pre-used electronic equipment laptops, mobile phones, printers, and tablets to Sungardens Palliative Care, extending the life of these devices while supporting a cause that embodies compassion, dignity, and hope.
This initiative is about far more than technology. It’s about redeeming for reuse giving equipment a purposeful second life. Instead of ending up in landfills, these devices help Sungardens raise vital funds or directly support their operations, reinforcing our commitment to responsible, sustainable practices that align with our broader ESG principles. It’s a tangible example of how environmental stewardship and human care can coexist beautifully.
This contribution is expected to help Sungardens generate approximately R120,000 funds that will go directly toward patient care, family support, and community services. But the true value lies in what those funds represent: comfort, companionship, and continuity of care for those who need it most. Sungardens Palliative Care provides a holistic network of support, offering both in-patient and home-based care to patients and their families. Their work extends beyond medical care they offer emotional and psychosocial support, ensuring that every individual is treated with dignity and compassion. Through their education programs, Sungardens equips healthcare professionals, caregivers, and community members with the knowledge and empathy to support those navigating life-limiting illnesses with grace and understanding.
Their retail store and Café Sungardens are extensions of this philosophy of care. The store transforms community donations clothing, books, and household goods into essential funding for hospice programs. Every purchase tells a story of kindness and community in action.
