Duncan Lewis, Chief Executive Officer
Duncan Lewis, Managing Director“We strive to be true partners in our clients success, which will enable ours and our ability to be catalysts for positive change in South Africa. - Duncan started his career in industrial marketing for a South African minerals processing business, where he was a director and shareholder. His roles included export business development, during which time he travelled extensively throughout Africa, South America and the Caribbean. Duncan joined PacknStack in January 2003 and has held several operational roles. Initially working exclusively on Kimberly-Clark as the National Field Sales Manager, his various roles have ensured a deep knowledge of the workings and challenges of the business.
Glenn Brauns, Chief Operating Officer
Glenn Brauns, Executive Director“The fast pace of change dictates we adapt and evolve, which is what we are determined to do to continue to offer our clients the reassurance that they have partnered with a business that truly walks their talk.” - Glenn comes with a wealth of FMCG experience, having worked within three of the top multinational companies over the past 21 years. During this time Glenn has held a number of senior sales, customer, marketing, trade marketing and strategy positions across a multitude of categories, ranging from food to personal care. Within this period Glenn has also been exposed to the workings and dealings of best in class retailers such as Wal-Mart and Carrefour while working abroad in Mexico, Most recently Glenn has held the positions of Sales Director and then CEO of a local Personal Care and Food company in South Africa. Glenn joined Pack n Stack in January 2013 as an Executive Director and Equity Partner and heads up the Groups Operations.
Zunaid Ismail, Group Operations Director
Zunaid Ismail, Group Operations Director“We are determined to deliver operational excellence for every one of our clients and to be there to play an enabling role in their growth today and tomorrow.” - Zunaid began his career at the coal-face of retail running a group of SPAR stores, including two wholesale divisions. He went on to Senior Regional Manager with Smollan, overseeing a group of convenience stores before joining Kimberly-Clark as a Regional Account Manager. He joined PacknStack in July 2008 first as Information Management System Head and then later Director, to provide leadership for developing and implementing information technology initiatives to support business operations. Zunaids role is to formulate, implement and evolve the Ops strategy to align with the business strategy, including developing the best route to market and channel plan for all customer segments in order to achieve service levels.
Willie Pretorius, Chief Financial Officer
Willie Pretorius, Financial Director“Keeping our finger on the pulse has never been of more critical importance. We need to be cost-vigilant while ensuring we empower our teams with the knowledge and tools to deliver the results our clients expect and deserve.” - Willie a Chartered Accountant since 2003, Willie has had broad experience across the construction, FMCG and manufacturing sectors. He has worked with blue chip companies like Murray and Roberts and the multi-national S&P500 company McCormick, listed on the New York Stock Exchange, in all aspects of financial accounting, procurement and audit. This has enabled Willie to intricately understand the full supply chain from raw material through the manufacturing and distribution process and ultimately the product that lands on the consumer’s shelf which is paramount when designing an all-encompassing financial and strategic solution for the company and our customers.
Gillian Barnes, Chief People Officer
Gillian Barnes, Human Resources Director“ Our people are our competitive advantage, they are that important. It is our mission to demand the best of them and give them that in return. PacknStack believes in people potential, we nurture it, we reward it and we celebrate it at every level.” - Gillian has had a career that has honed her skills in all aspects of people management. She was a Business Unit Manager for Labournet, whereby she managed a team of professional consultants advising clients across diverse industries including FMCG on people management. Performance management and HR Transformation are core skills. Gillian manages a competent team of practitioners that oversee the recruitment, training facilitation and performance of well over 4 000 Pack n Stack employees nationally. She joined Pack n Stack in February 2011.
Anne Phasha, Employee Wellness Director
Anne Phasha, Employee wellness Director“For many employees PacknStack is their second family. Society and the communities that we come from in many instances are just not able to offer the support needed when illness, crisis or crime knocks. We try to support, counsel and care where we are able.” - Anne started her career in banking with Nedbank as a teller. She later moved to Kimberly Clark where she worked in Sales which lead her to join PacknStack in 2003 as an Area Sales and later an Account Manager. In her current Employee Wellness role, Anne is responsible for the execution of wellness strategies for the organisation. She provides guidance on socio economic development initiatives and counsels employees in areas of wellness. She is a valued voice and advisor to senior management when it comes to how decisions will impact staff. Anne is in the process of completing her degree in BA Health and Social Services-Psychology through Unisa.
Debbie Simms, Chief Marketing Officer
Debbie Simms, General Manager: Marketing“Marketing is everything we do from our clients point of view. Whilst we build and improve our clients experience of our brand, we are ready and excited to be enhancing and extending our services to simultaneously build our clients brands, which is the reason we exist.” - Debbie spent over 25 years in consumer marketing, beginning her career at Unilever. In addition to classic consumer marketing she has worked in marketing services, trade marketing and Public Relations. Debbie ran Compass Communications for fourteen years, a Marketing Consulting business she founded and evolved into a shopper marketing and brand activation business. After the Smollan group acquired this business she continued to run it for four years before joining leading business incubator Raizcorp and working as a Marketing Guide to an array of entrepreneurs. She joined PacknStack in June 2015.
Frans Britz – CEO of CA Sales
A Chartered Accountant, Frans was previously the financial director of JSE listed companies DigiCore Holdings Limited , Rectron Holdings Limited and CIC Holdings Limited. He now holds the position of CFO – CA Sales Holdings
Ruan Lombard, Chief Information Officer
“Digitisation is at the centre of enabling the Impact that defines PnS’s purpose. Technology enables the optimal deployment of our resources and ensures we’re attending to the most important opportunities to advance our clients businesses in-store. Our ability to deliver continuous and improving value to clients over time also demands that our systems are world-class and keep up with emerging and converging technologies.” After a few years of financial audits with PwC , Ruan realised that his passion lay with technology, transferring to the Technology Risk Services department within PwC where he did security and information systems audits. Ruan managed two online gaming companies and an outsourced IT solutions provider business. He joined PnS as in-house ITC General Manager in 2010 and over the years of his tenure has been integral in the evolution of PnS’s mobile technology platform. He was appointed Chief Information Officer in January 2018. Ruan and his team manage the hardware, software development and various ICTsystems that link our back office, offices and field operations as well as our call centre with client’s systems. Ruan’s depth of system knowledge and breadth of experience will be key in ensuring PnS is future-ready with the technology and system integration capability that will underpin this.
