Humans seek connection over most other things. Our lives are made more meaningful, more pleasurable by human interaction and sharing. Social media is our everyday fare and we use it to connect, to laugh, sometimes cry and to remain in touch, in tune with what is happening – and who it is happening to!
Endorsement is possibly the oldest selling technique and it is rife on social media. I have personally used Facebook to ask about Plumbers, Electricians, Venues, Holiday ideas, book recommendations and recipes. Not to mention heard about pop-up shops, art exhibitions and concerts. It was only a matter of time before the Social networks began serving directly as shopping platforms! Whilst they have been transitioning, the commercial uptake on these platforms has been slow.
